After signing contracts, these agencies often vanished, leaving companies frustrated by noncommunication and unsatisfactory results. This realization motivated us to establish a unique agency that prioritizes honesty, transparency, and hands-on responsiveness every day.

Who Are The Cowboys
Chris and DJ started Social Media Cowboys in 2017. Before this, they worked separately in marketing, outsourcing social media and SEO work back and forth to each other. Now, with over 30 years of combined marketing experience, they share a passion for marketing. They also aim to help businesses navigate the digital landscape. They combined their expertise and creativity to create a dynamic, hands-on, honesty-first company. Since its creation, Social Media Cowboys has focused on personal strategies and online-ready content. We aim to connect businesses with their audiences in meaningful ways. Their commitment to excellence has paved the way for small businesses to be seen by those who need them most.

Chris started Social Media Cowboys in 2017 alongside his business partner, DJ, to help local businesses stop getting ignored online. What began as a two-man operation built on hustle and honesty has grown into a full-service digital marketing agency serving clients across Texas and beyond. His goal has always been simple: help small businesses get found, get chosen, and grow.
As a lifelong marketer and natural storyteller, Chris brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in social media management, local SEO, Meta advertising, and digital strategy. He doesn't believe in cookie-cutter campaigns — every client gets a real strategy built around their actual business.
Outside of marketing, Chris is a published author. His action sci-fi series (Mirov) and Western thriller (Pistol Jake) are available on Amazon — both built on the same no-nonsense, get-to-the-point philosophy he applies to everything he does.
When he's not running campaigns or writing fiction, Chris is at home in the Waco area with his wife Trish and their family. Family first, always.

Born in Austin, Texas, and raised in Waco. I love using my gifts and talents to serve and bless others. From a young age, mentors poured wisdom into me about entrepreneurship. I lived that out in some unforgettable ways early in my life. I competed in high-level tennis for over 12 years. I worked in corporate business marketing departments. I toured the U.S., playing guitar in a metal band. I also built my own business along the way.
Today, my passion is helping businesses thrive online, working alongside Chris. As a student of digital marketing, I’m fascinated by the technology that connects people and interests worldwide. I stay on top of current trends and tools so I can help make digital marketing feel less overwhelming and more attainable. My role in Social Media Cowboys is SEO, web design, and marketing research. I am the architect behind the screen, you could say.
My mission is simple: to bridge the gap for those who feel apprehensive or overwhelmed by digital marketing. Chris and I turn complicated platforms into something manageable, affordable, and genuinely effective for our clients.
